TERMS OF USE, SLM DFAM CHECKER

Last updated: 26 September 2026.

1. About the service

SLM DFAM Checker is a tool for automatically checking whether a 3D model is suitable for production by SLM (selective laser melting of metal). The service is provided by Svetozar Kolesar, Belgrade, Serbia, rarekolesar.com ("we"). By using the tool you accept these terms.

2. What the tool does

The tool analyses the geometry of the model you submit, applies the thresholds for the selected material and produces a report. Part of the report, the conclusion, is written by an artificial intelligence system based on the analysis results. The analysis is performed in the orientation in which you submitted the model.

3. Nature of the report

The report is an informative engineering assessment, not a guarantee that the part will be produced successfully. The thresholds are deliberately conservative and apply to standard process parameters. The actual result depends on the machine, parameters, powder, orientation, supports and post processing, which the tool cannot know. Before production, and especially for safety relevant parts, the report should be reviewed by a qualified engineer or manufacturer.

4. Free analyses

Each user is entitled to three free analyses. Re-analysing the same file with a different material does not use up a new analysis. For additional analyses, please contact us. We reserve the right to change the number of free analyses, temporarily suspend the service or restrict access for users who circumvent these rules.

5. Your files and confidentiality

All rights to the models you submit remain yours. By submitting a model you allow us to process it solely to produce your report. We do not share your model with third parties, publish it or use it for any other purpose without your separate consent.

To run the service we use trusted providers: hosting, email delivery and the artificial intelligence system that writes the conclusion. The artificial intelligence system receives the analysis results and views of the part, not the model file itself.

We keep the model for 30 days after the analysis and then delete it permanently. We keep the report permanently, so that you can access it and so that we can help you if you contact us. On request, we remove the link between the report and your email address.

6. Your obligations

Only submit models you have the right to share. You are responsible for complying with the rules that apply to your data, including confidentiality agreements and export control regulations. Automated submissions, circumventing the limit on analyses, disrupting the service and attempting to access other users' data are not permitted.

7. Our rights

The tool, the analysis methods, the Rare AMI index and the report layout are our property. You may freely use and share the report on your own part, for example with your team or your manufacturer.

8. Limitation of liability

The service is provided free of charge and as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage arising from decisions made on the basis of the report, including the costs of failed production, delays or lost profit. This does not limit any liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Emails

We send you the messages needed to run the service, such as your report. We send updates on additive manufacturing only if you have separately subscribed to them, and you can unsubscribe at any time without affecting your reports.

10. Personal data

The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The current version and the date of the last change are always published on this page.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Serbia. The competent court in Belgrade has jurisdiction over any disputes.
